Our Favorite Kids’ Outerwear

The Best Kids' Outerwear

What rituals have you been up to lately? This fall, lots of things are different, but some things — crunchy leaves, our neighbors’ Halloween decorations — feel the same. Through it all, going for walks around the neighborhood has been a nice break for our family. For warm jackets that are comfy and fun to wear, of course we looked to Primary

Hat, jacket, shirt, jeans.

For years, Primary has been our go-to place for the best pieces for babies and kids. All their clothes are mix-and-match and hand-me-down quality, even at great prices. Anton loves his fleece-lined silver puffer jacket, which is a new addition to Primary’s collection. “I feel like an astronaut and a robot,” he says.

The puffer jackets come in 10 colors, are warm, wind-proof, and have a water-repellent finish. Like all Primary’s pieces, they have lots of thoughtful touches, like elasticized trim around the hood and cuffs and a full-zip front with a chin guard. All of Primary’s puffer jackets are machine washable. They also have a sweet “I belong to” label, so no matter where your kids go, you’ll always know they’re theirs.

Hat, jacket, sweater, leggings, socks.

As a parent, I also love Primary clothes because their materials are carefully chosen to make sure they’re better for kids’ skin and the environment. On their jackets, the shell is 100% recycled polyester that’s OEKO-TEX certified, which means it has been tested and is free of over 300 chemicals. The shell, lining and insulation are all made with recycled materials (more than five plastic PET bottles are used in every puffer). The 100% recycled polar fleece lining gives added warmth.

Also, how cute are the pom pom hats? They’re super soft and come in seven colors. Now I’m almost excited for winter, knowing the kids will be toasty and happy to go outdoors.

Bonus for all readers: Primary is offering 25% off and free shipping on ALL purchases (not just first-time orders), using code COJ. Thank you so much!
